Paulo Valério was elected by the Portuguese Parliament member of the High Council of the Public Prosecution Service (HCPPS) for a three-year term. The election took place this Wednesday (June 19, 2024). The HCPPS is the management and disciplinary body of the Public Prosecution Service, presided over by the Prosecutor General of the Republic. In addition, the high council is composed of the regional prosecutors general, one deputy prosecutor general, six State prosecutors, five members elected by the Parliament, and two members appointed by the Minister of Justice.

The devil is in the details.
